Two late goals from substitute Johannes Seibeb handed African Stars of Namibia a 2-0 win over Petro Atletico of Angola in their Orange CAF Confederation Cup prelims first leg clash on Friday in Windhoek.

Seibeb scored on 79 minutes before adding the second four minutes from time to send the crowd at the Sam Nujoma Stadium into a frenzy mood and hand his team a two-goal advantage ahead of the return trip to Luanda next week.

African Stars, debuting in the second-tier continental club championship were denied the opener by the visitors, and only found the antidote in the introduction of Seibab later in the second half.

Fellow substitute, Meraai Swartbooi was the architect of the opener, laying a cross that met the head of Seibab, beating Petro Atletico goalie, Lima, for the first time.

Four minutes from time, Seibab wrapped up victory with a shot from close range after making his way past the Angolan defence.

In other matches, Malakia FC of South Sudan lost 0-1 to CARA of Congo in Khartoum whilst Cameroonian debutants, Yong Sports were humbled 2-0 by FC Konzo of Congo in Brazzaville.
