Borja grabbed a consolation for the Spanish with seven minutes left in the game.

Switzerland beat 10-man Colombia 3-0 in the other semi-final on Thursday, also played in Lagos, to clinch their place in the final.

Colombia will now face Spain in the third place play-off that will also be played in Abuja on Sunday.

"Everyone has seen that Switzerland have some serious qualities, so we'll have to give everything one more time to win. We've worked very hard to be able to defend our title and win a second consecutive World Cup. We're going to do everything we can to keep our trophy two more years."
