A former Golden Eaglets' Coach, Fanny Amun, says the creditable performance of the Super Eagles at the ongoing African Nations Championship (CHAN) was a reflection of the country's leagues development.
Amun made the assertion in an interview on Thursday in Lagos.
Amun said that he was impressed with the quality of the Eagles' play, adding that their performance had given football fans the hope that leagues in the country were developing.
"First and foremost, the performance of the Super Eagles at the CHAN is a reflection of the tremendous improvement of the leagues, especially the professional league.
"And it shows that making the national team will now be a stiff competition among the home-based Eagles and the foreign-based ones," Amun said.
He said that though the team might not lift the competition's trophy, they had proven their worth as players with potential.
The former coach said that with what the players showcased so far in the competition, foreign clubs would bid for them.
"Whether or not they lift the trophy, their quality is not in doubt.
"I know foreign clubs will be demanding for some of them by the end of the championship," he said. |
